The Lady Lobos started the season poorly but they have battled back, winning six of their last seven, including both games played last week. With those wins, they had moved into the top 16 in the 3A rankings heading into this week.
Playing in Holbrook on Tuesday, the Lobos built a big first-half lead, then held on down the stretch to defeat the Roadrunners, 58-51. Kinzee Brogan led the team in scoring with 15 points. Natalie Carlisle and Braxton Jones each added 10.
On the road again on Friday in Blue Ridge, Snowflake controlled the game from the opening tip. They outscored the Jackets 28-11 in the first half and 28 to 21 in the second half to easily win the game 56-32.
With the two wins, they improved their overall record to 11-10. They are now 5-7 in power point contests.
This week the team will host Payson on Tuesday, then travel to Chinle on Wednesday. On Friday they end the week in Show Low. Next week they will wrap up the regular season with a pair of home games. Holbrook comes in on Wednesday, and Blue Ridge on Thursday.
