The Lady Lobos had a busy week on the court, with two wins sandwiching one loss last week. Playing in Show Low on Tuesday, Snowflake prevailed in three straight games. A trip to Blue Ridge on Thursday ended in a 2-3 loss to the Yellowjackets and Friday’s home match with Seton Catholic was another 5-game battle, which the Lobos won 3-2.

The week’s shortest match was in Show Low, where Snowflake dominated, winning in three games: 25-13, 25-11 and 25-10. Josie Clare led the team in kills with 8. Mary Orr added 7 and Mairead Stradling helped with 5.

Thursday’s trip to Blue Ridge didn’t go as well. Snowflake won the first two games 25-23 and 25-23. The third game went to extra points before Blue Ridge finally prevailed 27-29 to stay in the match.

That win gave them momentum, which they carried over to win game four 25-21; then the Jackets closed out the match, winning 15-11 in game five.

Friday afternoon, Snowflake bounced back and defeated Seton Catholic in five games. Seton won the first game 25-15, but the Lobos took the second 25-16. The Sentinels won game three 25-19, but Snowflake tied the match again with a 25-18 win in game four. The decisive fifth game went to extra points before Snowflake won the match 18-16.

This week, Snowflake will travel to face ALA Vistancia on Tuesday, then will compete in the Nike Tournament of Champions hosted by Gilbert High School over the weekend in what will be their third and final tournament of the season.
