The Lady Lobos went 2-1 last week splitting two one-run games in the process. Their week started relatively smoothly with a five inning, 10-0 shutout homefield win over Holbrook on Tuesday.

Through the first two innings, Snowflake had control of the game leading 8-0. Their final 2 runs came in the fourth frame. Kashlynn Cantrell was on top of her game in the circle, holding Holbrook to just 1 hit. She finished with 7 strikeouts and no walks, facing just two batters over the minimum for five innings.

At the plate Kesley Scarbrough went 3 for 3 with a home run. Lyla Craner was 1 for 3 with a double. Kinslee Claridge went 1 for 3, Cantrell helped herself going 1 for 3; Addie Coor, 1 for 3; Brodie Cates, 1 for 2; and Paisley Solomon went 2 for 3.

Thursday’s trip to Payson ended in a 6-7 road loss. The game started well enough, with Snowflake building a 3-run lead through the first three innings. The Longhorns matched that total in the fourth, then pulled in front by 1 in the fifth. They extended that lead to 4 runs with 3 in the sixth. Trailing 7-3 the Lobos rallied with 3 runs in the top of the seventh before the door was shut leaving them with a 1 run loss.

Snowflake collected 13 hits in the loss. Riley went 4 for 4 with a double. Brooklyn Lovingood went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. Cantrell was 2 for 4 with two doubles. Adalyn Rodriguez went 1 for 3. Solomon was 2 for 4, and Cates went 2 for 3.

Hosting Show Low in an east region clash on Friday the Lobos came out on top in a 1 run decision with a comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Show Low led 1-0 after the first. Snowflake edged in front with 2 in the third inning. The back-and-forth game continued with Show Low going on top 3-2 with 2 in the fourth. They extended that lead to 4-2 with a run in the top of the fifth. Snowflake trimmed to a 4-3 lead with their own fifth inning run. Trailing by that margin going into the bottom of the seventh the Lobos rallied late scoring the 2 needed runs to win the game 5-4.

Coor went 3 for 3 with a double. Perkins was 3 for 4. Cantrell went 1 for 4 with a double. Adalyn Rodriguez was 1 for 1 and Kesley Scarbrough 1 for 3. Cantrell worked all seven innings in the circle allowing 4 runs on 10 hits with 3 strikeouts and no walks.

This week the Lobos have two region games. Tuesday, they play at Blue Ridge, then Friday will be a home tilt with Alchesay.

Snowflake is 8-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
