The Lobos enter their final four-game stretch ranked fourth overall, but three of their final four matches are against the top three teams sitting above them in the rankings.

The team played twice last week, suffering a 2-4 road loss at second-ranked St. John’s on Tuesday, then fought to a 1-1 tie after a long trip to Willcox on Thursday. The Cowboys were ranked just below Snowflake in fifth.

This week will be a tough test for the Lobos. Tuesday, they travel to face top-ranked Blue Ridge in a 6 p.m. contest. The following day, they return to the area taking on third-ranked Show Low.

In their final week of the season, they will host second-ranked St. Johns on Oct. 20, then their schedule will ease up a bit for a matchup with 15th-ranked Holbrook in their final regular-season match at home on Oct. 22.

Snowflake enters the penultimate week with an overall record of 8-1-2. They are 4-1-2 in regular-season contests.

The Lady Lobos find themselves ranked third heading into their final three games of the season. A split in their two matches last week leaves them at 7-2.

Hosting top-ranked Northland Prep on Tuesday last week, they played well but lost 2-3. The team bounced back two days later with a 3-1 home-field win over fifth-ranked Blue Ridge on Thursday.

Following Monday’s game at eighth-ranked Camp Verde, the Ladies will have just two games left on their schedule. Thursday, they travel to sixth-ranked Show Low, then next Tuesday they close out the regular season at fourth-ranked Payson.

The team needs to remain in the top six in the power rankings in order to qualify for postseason play. Snowflake is 13-3-1 overall heading into the final two weeks of the season.
