Snowflake moved up to second in the 3A power ranking with their win over Northwest Christian in their only match played last week. Facing the top five Crusaders in their own gym on Wednesday, the Lobos prevailed in four tight games.
Snowflake won the first game, 25-20. Northwest Christian battled back to take the second game 25-22. Game three was a marathon finally won by Snowflake 28-26. The Lobos were able to close out the match, winning game four 25-19.
There is a good chance these two teams could meet again in the late stages of the upcoming 3A state playoffs. The Lobos first have six regular season matches left on their docket. Two will be this week when they host Winslow on Tuesday then travel to Payson on Thursday.
With the Northwest Christian win Snowflake improved to 10-1 in regular season matches.
