Snowflake opened its volleyball season in Kayenta on Wednesday against what is traditionally a very good Mustang team. Snowflake is also very good and this early-season matchup may be a preview of a late-stage state playoff game in a couple of months.
Monument Valley won the match in four close games: 25-22, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-23. The Mustangs finished the match with 42 total kills, served 6 aces, had 97 total digs, and 39 assists in a back-and-forth match.
This week, the Lobos will host Payson on Tuesday and then travel to Chino Valley on Wednesday. Next Tuesday, they will play their first Metro Mountain Region game when they travel to Northwest Christian.
