With two and a half weeks left in the regular season, Snowflake’s boys soccer team is sitting in second position in the power rankings heading into this week’s action. For the boys fall soccer teams only the top eight in the final standings qualify for the postseason. With seven games left, the Lobos are in a solid position for the playoffs. This week they will play three of those remaining seven in three consecutive days, with all three matches being on the road.
Tuesday, they play at eighth-ranked Blue Ridge, Wednesday will be a trip to St. Michael to take on the 23rd-ranked Cardinals, and Thursday is a trip to Show Low for a match-up with the 11th-ranked Cougars. Next Monday they host fourth-ranked Payson. Snowflake enters the busy week with a 4-1 regular season mark.
In girls fall soccer, only the top six ranked teams reach post-season action. Snowflake enters this week ranked fifth with a 5-3-1 record. Unlike the boys team, they have just three matches left on their regular season docket, playing each Tuesday for the next three weeks. This week’s game is a matchup with eighth-ranked Round Valley in Snowflake.
Last week the Ladies split two contests. Tuesday they were in Flagstaff facing Northland Prep and came home with a 1-7 loss. Thursday, they welcomed in Holbrook defeating the Lady Roadrunners by a final of 7-0.
