The Wildcats entered Friday’s road game at Hayden with an even overall record at 1-1. However, facing the defending 1A state champions on their home turf was a tough task. The Lobos went 12-0 last year, including a 59-6 win in Joseph City.
Through two games this year, they were unbeaten and had only given up 6 points. The Wildcats did little to keep Hayden from moving to 3-0. Joseph City was just overmatched in a 46-0 road loss.
This week, the Wildcats will have a chance to get their record even when they host Fort Thomas on Thursday night. The Apaches come into this game with a 1-2 record, having been soundly beaten twice. One of those big losses came last week with a 66-24 loss to Salome.
Joseph City also lost to Salome back in the first week of the season by a similar point spread. With this game being in Joseph City, the Wildcats have a good opportunity to get their second win of the season.
