New regulations on utilities introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency and the damage they can do to the area economy will be the topic of a town hall hosted by District 5 State Senator Sylvia Allen (R-Snowflake) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Joseph City High School Auditorium, 4629 E. Second North. Allen noted that the changes could shut down many of our power plants, costing hundreds of jobs and millions to our economy. Other officials slated to attend include District 5 State Representatives Brenda Barton and Bob Thorpe, District III Navajo County Supervisor Jason Whiting, Apache County Supervisor Barry Weller and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Air Quality Division Director Eric Massey. “This is a most important town hall. It is imperative that people understand this issue and the impact it can have on our way of life. The damage caused by climate change alarmists includes the demonization and economic penalization of the fossil-fuel industry, and the waste of billions of dollars on economically and environmentally destructive regulations that do nothing to protect human health,” said the senator.
