On Friday, April 15, 2016, Heaven gained a very special daughter of God, Lora Ann Jacobs Allen. She passed peacefully from this earthly life surrounded by her loving family. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Joseph City. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. in the Relief Society Room. Interment will follow in the Joseph City Cemetery. She was born Oct. 31, 1941, in Snowflake. She was known as a wife, mom, granny, great-granny and friend. Lora had many interests, she loved to crochet and was an avid reader. She was greatly involved in PAL baseball for over 10 years and enjoyed watching her sons play. She was an active member of the LDS church and served an 18-month mission with her husband David in Manila, Philippines. Lora was a diehard University of Arizona basketball fan and faithfully watched every game. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Don’t worry, Mom, the roads are clear! Survivors include her husband, David Allen; four sons, Paul (Madena) Minefee, Chris Allen, Coy Allen and Cale (Kara) Allen; two daughters, Trina (Curtis) Garner and Lisa (Ira) Lewis; her twin brother, Raymond Lee Jacobs; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Hazel Jacobs; and a granddaughter, Kinzie Allen. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
