The Kor family has been unlucky as of late. We’ve had to make not one, not two, but three emergency room visits over the past few months. Luckily, everyone has either recovered or are close to it and now that I’ve had time to reflect on the experiences, I want to say how grateful I am for our local hospitals, which in these instances was the Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow. I know it’s a common discussion, one that I’ve had myself, expressing the desire for more healthcare closer to home. But after our recent experiences, we’re feeling fortunate. It’s a 20 minute straight shot to the emergency room from my house and I’m pretty sure that’s a quicker trip than I would have to a Valley hospital if I was just a few miles away from it.
On top of that, everyone was seen right away and received excellent care. As nerve wracking as experiences like those are when loved ones are involved, it also gave me a better understanding of how fortunate we are to have the healthcare we do here. A sincere thank you for the doctors and nurses at LCMC, you made my family feel heard, safe and well cared for. That being said, I hope we don’t see you again for a long, long time.
