Dear Editor,

I just wanted to say a public thank you for the last couple of weeks of functions that I and my family have attended. First was the Easter Concert at the LDS Church in Holbrook. Singers came from around the White Mountains to join in – what a marvelous experience.

Then it was off to Snowflake to enjoy A Sacred Easter Walk at the LDS Church. The sign stated it was a community event with help from many churches in the area.

That was followed by the Last Supper presentation at the Assembly of God Church in Holbrook. This made our Easter more memorable. Then we went to Winslow for a high school play called Peter and the Starcatcher.

Each of these events were well attended by our friends and neighbors. None of these could have happened without volunteers. For all those who donated time to touch the lives of others, it was very much appreciated.

Many times it has been said living in a small town there is nothing to do. I’ve heard the best rebuttal to that which says: “yeah, just plan something and see what’s going on.” Many events take place in our communities and for most people it becomes a juggling act. Which way do we go? So if you’re bored, just look around. There are a lot of things going on to help keep you busy. You have free time but you’re not sure what to do with it? Look around, there are many organizations, schools, libraries, senior centers who could use some helping hands. Help make the world better, VOLUNTEER!

Ron Smith,

Holbrook
