With pre-evacuation orders for the Cedar Fire still in place for the communities of Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, McNary, Hon-Dah and Cedar Creek, Navajo County Emergency Management informed residents that due to previously scheduled maintenance to the Snowflake High School gymnasium, the temporary shelter would be relocated to the Holbrook High School cafeteria located at 455 N. Eighth Ave. The American Red Cross will continue to manage the shelter with the support of The Salvation Army. In addition, the small animal shelter will also be relocated.
Also remember that with Stage 1 fire restrictions the building, maintaining, attending, or use of a fire or campfire is restricted; smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials is forbidden; and the use of any and all fireworks, explosive targets or tracer round ammunition is forbidden.
