Both Lobo soccer programs have qualified for post-season play following action in the final week of the season. The boys team earned two more wins during the week, with an 8-1 home-field win over St. Johns on Tuesday night followed by an 8-0 shut out win over Round Valley on Wednesday. Those two wins ended their regular season with a record of 10-1-1.

The Lobos now enter the bracket as the No. 3 overall seed and will host No. 6 Blue Ridge on Tuesday night. The two teams played twice this year, once in a tournament where they fought to a 1-1 tie, and once in the regular season where the Lobos were victorious by a final of 2-0. Blue Ridge finished the regular season with an 8-4 regular season mark. If the Lobos prevail on Tuesday, they will face either No. 2 Sedona or No. 7 Desert Christian in the semifinal round on Thursday at the site of the higher seed.

The championship game will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday at Westwood High School. Chino Valley is the top seed in the bracket.

The Lady Lobos are also in postseason action and will travel to St. Johns on Tuesday to face No. 3 St. Johns in the play-in game. Coincidentally, St. Johns was the Lobo’s final regular season opponent on Tuesday of last week. The Redskins won that game 2-1, leaving the Lobos with a regular season record of 6-5-1.

With a win in the play-in game, they would advance to the semi-final round on Thursday, where they would most likely face No. 2 Northland Prep. If they can advance all the way to the title game it would be held on Saturday afternoon at Westwood High School.
