Bary Petersen Bary Kent Petersen, 62, passed away Aug. 24, 2021, in Show Low. He was born Nov. 6, 1958, in Holbrook to the late Loral Cliffe and Charlotte (Brewer) Petersen. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Joseph City Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 8181 Westover St., in Joseph City, where there will be a closed casket visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Joseph City Cemetery. Bary was a member of Holbrook High School’s Class of ’77. He married his forever sweetheart, Sharon Kay Turley on June 19, 1981, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They most recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary together. Bary was a family man and loved outdoor activities with his family; most especially camping and hunting. Gardening was also a passion for him and he spent countless hours in his garden growing the most amazing things. When his grandkids came along, they increased his joy tenfold. They were his ‘little buddies’ and he loved taking all of them on many, many tractor rides. He loved family vacations and cruises with his bunch and now they each have a lifetime of memories to remember him by and are so grateful that they were able to share his life with him. They love him and will miss him very much. Bary is survived by his wife, Sharon Petersen of Joseph City; sons, Andrew Joseph (Kellie) Petersen of Mesa, Mathew Charles (Erin) Petersen of Las Cruces, N.M., Jeremy Michael (Venessa) Petersen of Artesia, N.M., Casey Alexander (Micayle “Myke”) Petersen of Tijeras, N.M.; and 14 grandchildren. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
