Snowflake drew a split in two games last week pushing their regular season record to 8-3 and leaving them ranked inside the top 10 in the 3A power point rankings.
On Wednesday, they traveled to Window Rock where they upended a struggling Scouts team 50-32. Window Rock will be on the outside looking in at the state playoffs this year, as they are ranked 38th at the 3A level.
Friday night’s game in Show Low was a different matter. The 12th-ranked Cougars battled the Lobos behind 31 points from Preston Powers and another 20 from Thomas Ellsworth. A game that went to the final seconds was eventually won by Show Low 72-70.
This week Snowflake will host second-ranked Holbrook on Tuesday night then will host No. 23 Blue Ridge on Friday night. Next Tuesday they play at No. 19 Payson.
