The Arizona Department of Transportation began a pavement improvement project Monday on State Route 77 near Snowflake, starting at the SR 277 Junction and continuing north for eight miles (milepost 361 to 373).
The paving will occur in two, four-mile sections. While paving occurs, the roadway will be narrowed to one lane only, and a pilot car will guide drivers through the work zone. Crews are expected to apply the final lane striping in early October.
Paving will take place Mondays through Fridays, during daylight hours, from 6 a.m. to dark. Motorists should be prepared for delays of up to 20 minutes through the project area. No paving will take place during Labor Day weekend, Friday through Monday, Sept. 1-4.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
