The spirit of competition and the roar of the crowd filled the air last Saturday as Winslow played host to the much-anticipated event, Winslowmania 2. The event, organized by the local pro wrestling organization Slam U in collaboration with Phoenix Championship Wrestling (PCWAZ), brought a night of high-octane pro-wrestling action and excitement to wrestling fans of all ages.

Taking place at the Winslow Junior High (Old Bulldog) gym, the event drew in a crowd of nearly 500 enthusiastic spectators, who eagerly gathered to witness an unforgettable night of professional wrestling showdowns.

The wrestlers did not pull any punches. Fans were treated to a variety of impressive wrestling moves, electrifying entrances, and a lineup of both familiar favorites and fresh faces. Athletes from the Slam U organization showcased their skills and passion for the sport, leaving no stone unturned to provide an unforgettable experience. From the dramatic entrances to the heart-pounding matches, every moment was crafted to create an atmosphere of exhilaration.

One of the highlights of the night was the presence of the reigning Slam U Champion, Grizz Broady, who faced off against not one, but two opponents, Kevin Koa and Devin Reno. The intensity of the triple-threat match was palpable as Grizz Broady demonstrated his prowess by taking down both opponents and successfully retaining his title as the Slam U Champion.

For those who attended, the night was not just about witnessing the impressive in-ring action; it was also an opportunity to connect with the athletes themselves. The event included a meet and greet with the wrestlers, allowing fans to get up close and personal with their favorite competitors. Some of the wrestlers even attended the Mother Road Farmers Market the morning of the event to stir up excitement and sign autographs for the fans. Before and after the show they also let children take pictures with the wrestlers in the ring. This added element of interaction and engagement added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

Larrilynn Oso, who played a pivotal role in bringing Slam U to Winslow, was crowned the PCWAZ-SLAMU Fan Champion. Oso’s idea to host the event in Winslow last year turned into a resounding success, and her dedication was celebrated with a championship wrestling belt. However, the celebration took an unexpected turn when a disgruntled wrestler confronted Oso in the ring, questioning her worthiness of the title. In a shocking turn of events, Oso demonstrated her commitment by decisively slamming the wrestler to the mat, solidifying her position as the fan champion.

Other wrestlers who took the stage included Zamaya, Joey Hendrix, Doink the Clown, Devun Reno, Elden Finau, Flyboy Freddy, Kevin Koa, Enrique Calderon, Danielle Kamela, Baker Jeffcoat, and Stanley Logan. Their performances added diversity and excitement to the event, showcasing their unique skills and captivating personas.

Winslowmania 2 proved to be a triumphant follow-up to last year’s event, bringing an electrifying blend of athleticism, entertainment, and community spirit. With Slam U and PCWAZ at the helm, the event demonstrated the power of collaboration and passion in delivering an unforgettable night of pro-wrestling action. Whether it was the heart-stopping matches, the meet and greet sessions, or the incredible display of athleticism, Winslowmania 2 left its mark on wrestling fans and the Winslow community as a whole.
