The Wildcat football team’s four-game winning streak ended at home on Friday night with a 46-14 defeat to top-ranked Williams.
The loss dropped Joseph City’s record to 5-2 but should still leave them ranked inside the top 10 when this week’s rankings come out on Tuesday. Joseph City will look to rebound when they host a winless Sedona Red Rock team ranked near the bottom of the 1A rankings.
The Scorpions were soundly beaten by fifth-ranked Mogollon last week, 54-24. This matchup was one of four wins for Joseph City last season, when they beat the Scorpions 39-16 in Sedona. Wildcat fans can expect a similar outcome this season.
That would set Joseph City up for a big season finale at Mogollon in two weeks.
