The Wildcats played just once last week with their 72-49 home-court win over Superior, extending their current win streak to five games. That streak is expected to reach six on Monday night when they were slated to host a Cibecue team they had beaten by nearly 30 points just two weeks ago. That streak will be put to a test on Tuesday when they travel to face Fort Thomas. The Apaches are 9-4 and ranked seventh in the 1A standings. Joseph City entered this week ranked 11th with a similar 9-4 mark.

On Thursday, Joseph City will host third-ranked and once-beaten Hayden. The Lobos will be a good test to see where the Wildcats stand as they head toward the 1A State playoffs.

Last Thursday’s win over Superior was close through the first half. Joseph City led by three after one, then Superior tied the game up at 35-35 at the half. In the third quarter Joseph City edged in front by nine, then in the fourth they outscored Superior 23-9 to win the game 72-49.

Bryce Bushman led in scoring with 19 points. Nehemiah Balda added 12; Jareon Miller, 11; Eki James, 8; Tristan Paddock, 5; Damarcus Bufford, 5; Zane Johnson, 3; Cort Miller, 2; Blake Palmer, 2; Mees Koopman, 2; Bannon Johnstun, 2; and Brent Bush added 1.

On Monday Joseph City will welcome in No. 16 Williams.
