Hosting Mayer on Friday night, the Wildcats picked up their first victory of the season. They blasted their mascot namesakes by a final of 42-0. Mayer entered the game having gone scoreless in their first five games of the season. They have now been outscored by a total of 216 to 0. They do, however, have one win on their record thanks to receiving a forfeit victory in week one from Cibecue.
The Joseph City Wildcats are now 1-3 on the season. They don’t have long to celebrate their first win, with Williams coming to town this week. The Vikings are 3-2 on the season. They defeated Mayer two weeks ago 58-0, so at least on paper the Wildcats could have a chance to be in a tight game. Following this week’s game, the Wildcats have just two remaining opponents. A long trip to Fredonia on Oct. 7, and a home game with Mogollon on Oct. 13.
