Mail theft, Eudora Gibson Eudora Gibson

By Linda Kor The thefts of a large quantity of mail from mailboxes in the Snowflake and Show Low areas have been under investigation by the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Postal Inspection Service, and two suspects are now in custody. On Jan. 11, Show Low Police arrested Jordan E. Lewis, 24, on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a prescription-only drug, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor, possession of a weapon during the commission of a drug offense and theft of a motor vehicle. During a search of the vehicle Lewis was driving, officers discovered mail of a number of the theft victims. Lewis was previously the target of an investigation for using a credit card stolen from the mail. Following her arrest on Jan. 20, postal inspectors obtained a federal arrest warrant for Lewis for felony possession of stolen US Mail. On Jan. 19, NCSO deputies and Major Crimes Apprehension Team (MCAT) detectives interviewed a suspect associated with Lewis, Eudora Gibson, 24, of Snowflake. Following that interview, Gibson was arrested for two counts of possession of stolen property. This case remains under investigation, with detectives stating that they are confident more arrests will be made. To avoid being a victim of mail theft, NCSO and the U.S. Postal Service officials recommend that you do not leave mail in your mailbox overnight, and that you deposit mail at a post office or blue collection box. If you see suspicious activity around your mailbox, please report it to the sheriff or police.
