For the sixth year in a row, the Snowflake High School cross country program is hosting a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24. Race time is at 9 a.m. at the Snowflake Golf Course, and there will be two races running simultaneously, a one-mile and a 5K race/walk. The entry fee is $20 or $10 without a T-shirt. Business sponsorships are also sought. All proceeds will benefit the cross country program. This club is affiliated with, but not financially supported by, the SHS Athletic Department, and these proceeds will be used to provide race entry fees, equipment, etc. The Snowflake team just completed a very successful season, with more runners on the team than it has had in many years. They competed in races from Flagstaff to Casa Grande to Holbrook and Pinetop, and earned many personal and team records along the way.
