christmas house lighted

Ever wonder what the inside of some of Holbrook’s unique homes look like? How people decorate, especially at Christmastime? Curious about the stories behind a property? Enjoy casual encounters with people without the commitment of a party or a meal? Want to get into the Christmas spirit? If so, you may enjoy a new event sponsored by Holbrook’s Painted Desert Kiwanis Club called The 12 Homes Of Christmas. It’s a parade of homes in which ticketholders travel at their own pace during a four-hour period from home to home viewing 12 special Holbrook residences, enjoying a bit of refreshment and conversation at each beautifully decorated property. Ranging from tiny to grand and spread throughout the Holbrook community, The 12 Homes Of Christmas event gives ticketholders an opportunity to satisfy their curiosity about certain of Holbrook’s special homes and, along the way, visit with friends and neighbors, known and yet-to-know. The homes will be open for visitors from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, giving patrons four hours in which to check out any or all the homes on the tour. Home descriptions and a map will be given to guests upon purchase of tickets, which are $15 per person or $25 for two. Tickets may be acquired from any Holbrook Kiwanian or by calling Jeff Johnson at (928) 241-9061 or emailing him at peace.lutheran.holbrook@gmail.com. Proceeds from this special event go toward replenishing the Kiwanis Club’s treasury which supports so many good causes in our community including college scholarships, the First Step Christmas Party and springtime luncheon, Quiz Nite, sponsorship of several youth sports teams, the posting of flags along our main streets for each patriotic holiday, Fourth of July kids’ games/bike parade, various library activities, various chamber of commerce events, the Bread of Life Mission and particular appeals throughout the year. Interested in being a part of the Painted Desert Kiwanis Club? The group meets every Thursday at 6:30 a.m. over breakfast at Tom & Suzie’s.
