SUSD Business Manager Mark Ollerton stated, “Every year we have to analyze our prices with regards to the number of meals served in the month of October. This lets us know if we need to increase our prices. The maximum increase is 25 cents with the minimum being 10 cents.”

Regarding a request for a facility maintenance assistance agreement, Merrell said that Aaron Dunford, Snowflake-Taylor Recreation and Parks Department (STRP) director, had requested an increased use of the SUSD gym facilities in exchange for $5,000 on an annual basis to assist in resurfacing the floors.

Merrell said the principal use by STRP would be for Saturday basketball as well as a men’s basketball team. “School activities come first and they would have to work around them, but if they are willing to put funds toward resurfacing the floor, it would be good for us.”

Dunford noted in his request, “STRP is grateful to the SUSD for their successful partnership that has created excellent recreational activities for this community for decades.” The board approved the request.
