Shortly before 5 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department began receiving calls reporting a fire at the Snowflake High School baseball field located near the intersection of Third West and Sixth South. Upon the arrival, the officer and fire units discovered that the equipment shed near the third base dugout was completely engulfed in flames. The fire appears to be arson related and is being investigated as such. At this time the school is still assessing the damage to determine how much equipment was lost and what the cost will be to replace it. Police are seeking any and all information anyone may have regarding this senseless act, as well as two arson fires at the SHS softball field and wood shop set Oct. 24.
