The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Areas 1 and 2 during the period of April 17-23. Areas 1 and 2 include Joseph City, Woodruff, Sun Valley, Goodwater, Adamana, unincorporated areas of Winslow and Holbrook, and parts of the Navajo and Hopi reservations that are located within the boundaries of Navajo County. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt. On Monday, April 18, Ricardo Armando Armendariz Aguilar, 36, of Albuquerque, N.M., was arrested for possession of narcotic drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at Milepost 292. During the stop, deputies located illegal substances on the sole occupant of the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, there was 1.1 grams of methamphetamine and 1.1 grams of cocaine located. Aguilar was booked into Navajo County Jail. On Tuesday, April 19, Alonso Matthew Corona, 18, Anthony Medina, 23, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Damian Barraza, 20, of Montgomery, Ill, were each charged with possession of a narcotic drug and transportation of a narcotic drug following a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at Milepost 292. During the stop, deputies observed illegal substances in plain view. After a search of the vehicle, there was two ecstasy pills, 10 pounds of THC wax/cartridges, 1.5 pounds of cannabis edibles and three rolled joints of marijuana located in the vehicle.
