Sarah McCray Sarah “Sally” McCray, 81, born to Rial and Faun Standifird Freeman, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 23, 2022, in Taylor. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, located at 84 E. 19th S., in Snowflake. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Silver Creek LDS Stake Center, located at 300 W. Willow Lane in Taylor, with viewing one hour prior. “Having been born of goodly parents,” Sally experienced a wonderful and beautiful childhood. She was thankful to her parents for the many values and life lessons they taught her while she was yet a child and young woman. Many of those lessons and values have been instilled, not only into her own children but, into her grandchildren as well. Sally was a member of Snowflake High School’s Class of 1958. Her life forever changed at the age of 19, when she met a nice young man who just so happened to be a good friend of her brothers. His name was Terrance R. “Terry” McCray. On Dec. 5, 1959, they were married at her mother’s home in Snowflake. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sally and Terry most recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Throughout most of their marriage, Sally worked alongside her husband as his secretary and as his “righthand man” for his business, “A to Z Drilling.” Sally’s posterity includes husband, Terry; children, Ray (Julie), Loretta (deceased) husband, Allyn Lynn, Dennise (Dean, deceased) Morris, Gary (Tiffany), Eufaun (Dayton) Flake, Mary, and Jay Dee; 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. She loved her family so very much and they, in turn, loved her right back. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
