Nolte and Cornelia (Connie) Nolte. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the Owens Livingston Mortuary, located at 84 E. 19th S., in Snowflake. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake. Sandi’s early years in Cincinnati, and later Madison, Indiana, were spent in the company of nuns as she attended all 12 years of her schooling under the tutelage of the Roman Catholic Church. She began singing in the choir at church and spent four years in chorus at Shawe Memorial High School, along with enjoying the drama department. This led to her role as Shirley McLain’s double in the film, “Some Came Running” also starring Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, filmed in Madison in 1958. At 18, Sandi left the tiny town of Madison and headed back to Cincinnati, began working, and met her first husband, Don Norman. They married in 1962. Ten years later they took a trip to the Arizona desert that reshaped her life. After moving to Arizona, she began her career as a real estate broker and became immersed and completely devoted to Arizona Native American culture and arts. In 2010 she married one of the best friends she ever had, Hilton Honyaoma, and lived happily ever after. Sandi’s other loves included the theater, desert flowers, advocacy work, and her beloved Redbird family. Sandi is survived by her husband, Hilton; daughter, Hyla Burleson; sons, Stephen and Bryan Norman; granddaughters, Leila, Cassandra and Peyton; grandson, Nathan; and great-grandsons, Tristan and Rhett. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and a brother, Denise Nolte.
