A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at the First Baptist Church in Holbrook.
His family moved to Holbrook in 1961 when his father was part of the original crew that fired up unit one at Cholla Power Plant. Roy attended school and graduated from Holbrook High School in May of 1970. He was drafted into the United State Army in April of 1972 and served proudly until April of 1974.
Upon coming home from the service, he went to work for Southern Union Gas Company and in 1975 met the love of his life. Roy and Teri were married Aug. 18, 1979, at the First Baptist Church in Holbrook and in 1981 Roy started his career as an appraiser for the Navajo County Assessor’s Office. In November of 1982 they were blessed with their first son Casey, followed by a son, Kelly in 1987 and a daughter Cristie in 1989.
