Holbrook dropped both games played last week, one loss was close, the other was not.

They countered with 2 runs in the top of the fourth to retake the lead 3-2. Show Low tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, then pulled ahead 4-3 with another run in the sixth. Holbrook failed to score in the top of the seventh, resulting in a 4-3 Show Low win.

Holbrook was precariously ranked 23rd in the 3A rankings prior to Saturday’s loss. They were to host 22nd-ranked Alchesay on Monday. The loser of this game may be out of the postseason. The winner will more than likely play in the 3A play-in game on Wednesday at a site of a higher-seeded team. If Holbrook reaches the play-in game, then pulls off an upset, they will play in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday, May 6. If they fail to reach the play-in game, their season will have come to a close on Monday afternoon in Holbrook.
Holbrook was 7-9 in regular-season games heading into Monday’s contest with Alchesay.
