Both Holbrook soccer teams will finish their respective seasons on Thursday night at Roadrunner Stadium when they host Show Low on senior night. The girls begin play at 4 p.m., and the boys will follow at 6 p.m. Seniors from both programs will be honored between the two matches.
The Lady Roadrunners struggled to put together a team early in the season and haven’t won a match all year, having scored just three goals, two of which came in last Wednesday’s 2-8 loss at Winslow. The ladies have played hard despite what has been an uphill climb for much of the season. Holbrook is 0-9 on the year heading into their final match vs the Cougars. Show Low is on the other end of the spectrum. They enter this week ranked second with a 9-1 regular season mark.
Holbrook’s boys team has also struggled with wins this season with a 2-7-1 regular season record. They were competitive in most matches, scoring 35 total goals on the season. The two wins came over Winslow, including last week’s 8-0 shutout win. Their tie was an overtime battle with Round Valley which resulted in a 5-5 ending.
