Both Roadrunner soccer teams hosted Show Low in a doubleheader evening at Roadrunner Stadium on Thursday last week. Facing both Cougar teams on senior night, Holbrook came up short in both contests.
The Lady Roadrunners played first, falling to the Lady Cougars 8-0 in a mercy rule-shortened game. Show Low will be playing in the state championship bracket as the No. 2 overall seed.
Holbrook’s boys team also closed out their season but did have a competitive match through the first 60 minutes before falling to the Cougars by a final of 9-3. Show Low scored most of their goals late in the second half. Show Low is heading to the state tournament as the No. 3 overall seed.
The Lady Roadrunners ended their season with a 0-10 record. The boys team finished with a 2-8-1 mark.
