The Lobos added two more marks in their win column last week, both by virtue of shutouts. Hosting Payson on Monday, they took care of the Longhorns by a final of 3-0. Two days later a trip to Round Valley resulted in an 8-0 shutout victory.

Those two wins pushed their season record to 8-1-1 with two final regular season games left this week. On Tuesday afternoon they will play in St. Johns and then Wednesday’s home game vs Round Valley will put a wrap on their regular season. The Lobos will be in the state playoffs, as they enter this week ranked third overall. In boys fall soccer the top eight ranked teams advance to the postseason. They will more than likely host a first-round game on Oct. 24 if they remain ranked in the top four.

The Lady Lobos enter this week right on the edge of post-season qualification. In their only action last week, they fell to the Lady Yellowjackets in Blue Ridge on Tuesday afternoon by a final of 2-1. That loss left them ranked sixth in power points entering their final game of the regular season, which will be on Tuesday evening when they host St. Johns. The Redskins entered the week ranked second overall and did defeat the Lobos earlier this season. If Snowflake wins their final game, they will be guaranteed a spot in the play-in game and will have to travel to the site of the higher seed on Tuesday, Oct. 24. If they fall to St. Johns for the second time, they would have to await the final rankings to see if they remain in the top six. They enter the final week with a regular season record of 6-4-1.
