The Lobos won all three games last week in convincing fashion, picking up double-digit wins in each case. Tuesday’s 58-38 win over No. 17 Payson was a good way to start the week. The following night they defeated Chinle in the Wildcat Den by a final of 62-49. Chinle was ranked 14th prior to that loss. On Friday night the Lobos returned to East region play with a 54-41 win over rival 20th-ranked Show Low on the Cougar’s home court.
This week Snowflake will close out the regular season with two home games. Holbrook, fresh off their upset win over No. 3 Monument Valley, will bring in what should be a top-five ranking and a ton of Roadrunner fans in to face the Lobos. Wednesday’s final regular season home game will be against 16th-ranked Blue Ridge.
The Lobos enters the final week of the regular season with an overall record of 18-4. They are currently tied with Holbrook in the region standings, although the Roadrunners do hold the tiebreaker with a previous win. Holbrook would win the region with a win. Even with a Lobo win they will still have to finish ranked higher than the Roadrunners in the rankings to claim the region crown.
