The Lobos earned a win in their first game of the season but it didn’t come easy. They outlasted visiting Alchesay on Tuesday with a four-point overtime win.
The Lobos are still playing without several expected varsity players who continue their march through the 4A state football playoffs. Those young men have one final football game to play this Friday in the state championship game, meaning the Lobos won’t be in full force until Monday.
Snowflake’s 53-49 win should give them momentum for a tough road trip to Safford on Tuesday this week. Following that game, the football players will have some time to get adjusted to the hardwood as the next basketball game isn’t scheduled until the 15th when they play at Round Valley.
