With the Lobo football team going deep into the 4A playoffs and a large majority of that football team also plays basketball, it means the Lobos will have opened their season on Tuesday at home with a skeleton varsity crew when they host Alchesay. The Falcons are way down this year once again, but playing without multiple varsity players will be a challenge for new head Coach Joe Clare, who has moved over from the girls’ program.
If the football team wins on Friday those who play both sports also won’t be on the court on Dec. 6 when the team travels to Safford.
Their road game at Round Valley on Dec. 15 could potentially be their first game with a full varsity roster if their football team advances to the state title game.
