The Lady Wildcats are off to an 11-0 start to the season after winning all seven of their games at their own softball tournament over the weekend.
Prior to the tournament, the team hosted Sequoia Charter in a regular season match-up on Tuesday last week. The long trip wasn’t worth the 11-0 shutout loss the Wildcats handed the Stallions.
Joseph City opened their tournament on Thursday morning with a 13-3 win over Chinle. Later in the day, they took care of Fredonia 12-1. Friday’s first game was an 18-1 win over Hayden, followed by an 11-1 win over St. Johns in the afternoon game. On Saturday, the Lady Cats defeated Chinle again, this time 8-3, then took care of Globe in the title game by a final of 23-3.
Joseph City will have played in Holbrook on Monday for the only contest of the week for both teams before having the remainder of the week off for spring break.
They will resume action on March 22 with a trip to Williams.
