The Lady Wildcats were busy last week, with one regular season game on Tuesday followed by seven games over three days at the Round Ball Tournament in Round Valley.

Joseph City took care of business last Tuesday with a 64-10 road win over Hayden. That win moved their regular season mark to 4-0 on the season.

They played two games of pool play on Thursday at Round Valley. They dropped a close game to Round Valley 32-28, then were beaten more soundly by Blue Ridge 56-34.

Bracket play started with a 36-29 win over Safford on Friday morning. That win advanced them in the bracket to face Alchesay, (the eventual tournament champion) in the second round. The Lady Wildcats played tough on Friday afternoon, but eventually fell to the Falcons 52-41 dropping them down in the bracket for Saturday’s games.

Returning to Springerville on Saturday morning, the Lady Cats took care of St. Michael 46-37. That win moved them into a rematch with Blue Ridge who had beaten them two days prior. This time around Joseph City prevailed, 46-33. That win also moved them into the third place game where they met up with St. Johns.

Playing their third game of the day caught up with them. The Redskins who had just one prior game that day took advantage of a tired Wildcat team, doubling them up with a 50-25 outcome leaving Joseph City with a fourth-place finish.

The Lady Cats now have nothing but regular season contests left on their schedule for the rest of the season. They open that with a busy week. After hosting St. Johns, on Tuesday night they will host Mogollon on Wednesday night. Friday night the Wildcats will travel to face Fort Thomas.

Overall, Joseph City is 7-3 on the season.
