Joseph City started their season on a terrific note winning their first 12 games. They had that streak snapped in the first two games at the Epic Tourney in Chandler on Thursday.
Joseph City fell to Yuma Catholic in their first tournament game on Thursday by a final of 4-0. All four runs in the game came in the bottom of the fourth where the Shamrocks secured the win. Yuma’s pitcher limited Joseph City to just two hits in the game.
Joseph City’s second game was a 4-18 loss to Holbrook on Friday morning. The Wildcats defeated Holbrook 13-2 in a regular season game just two weeks ago. But in the Epic Tourney this week, Holbrook pulled away for the win. Both of Joseph City’s tournament losses will not count against their power point standings. The rankings come out on Tuesday and the Lady Wildcats should easily be ranked inside the top five with their current 5-0 regular season record.
This week they will put that lofty ranking on the line on Tuesday when they welcome in rival Mogollon. On Thursday they will travel to Hayden followed by a shorter trip to St. Johns on Saturday. Next Tuesday they are slated to play at Fort Thomas.
