The Lady Roadrunners volleyball team is not off to the start they were hoping for through the first three games. On Aug. 31, they dropped both matches played. Monday, they were in Joseph City facing a rebuilding Wildcat team.
The Wildcats performed well, taking care of a senior laden Holbrook, in three straight games: 25-19, 25-22, and 25-22. Holbrook started slow and played better in the final two games, but the result was still a Wildcat win.
Holbrook traveled to Blue Ridge on Sept. 2, for a freedom matchup with the Yellowjackets. The longtime 3A East foe is now a member of the Metro Mountain Region and they handed Holbrook a straight-sets loss: 18-25, 17-25, and 14-25.
After hosting a one-win Coolidge team off a long trip to Holbrook on Sept. 8, they welcome a winless Alchesay team on Sept. 10. On Sept. 12, they host Page, which entered the week with only two wins.
