The Lady Lobos are headed to the 3A state volleyball tournament as the expected top overall seed in the bracket. Wins in their final two regular-season matches last week should have secured that top spot. The official 3A bracket will be released Wednesday, following the 3A play in games which take place on Tuesday night between seeds nine through 24.
The Lobos won’t be in action until Saturday when they will open the state tournament at 9 a.m. at Marcos de Niza High School. The first and second rounds will take place this upcoming weekend with the semifinals and championship rounds played next Friday and Saturday. After Snowflake’s dominating season with just one loss, Lobo fans have to be expecting their team to be in the title match.
Their final two regular season games were both wins. They defeated Blue Ridge last Monday in three straight games 25-19, 25-21, and 25-19. Two days later a long trip to Safford resulted in another three-game sweep.
