The Lady Lobos have had a couple of key players return to the lineup and with that, they have returned to the win column in their past three games. Playing in Winslow on Tuesday the Lobos took care of the Bulldogs 46-41. Snowflake trailed by two after the first and by three at the half. By the end of the third, they had pulled within a point. The fourth period saw Snowflake pull away to the five-point win.
Hosting a pesky Ganado Hornet team on Thursday the Lobos once again used a strong fourth period to win the game. The Hornets led by three after the first, but in the second Snowflake overtook them to lead by seven at the half. Ganado made it a five-point game going into the fourth which is where Snowflake outscored them by eight to win the game.
On Saturday Snowflake was in Payson where they dispatched a resurgent Longhorn team. The Lobos played well throughout the game, outscoring the home team in each period to win the game 62-44.
With the three wins, Snowflake improved their regular season record to 3-6. They are now 6-9 overall. The Lobos were ranked 25th in the 3A rankings prior to Saturday’s win.
This week they will host a good No. 11 Window Rock team on Wednesday then will welcome in top-10 Show Low on Friday night. Next Tuesday they travel to take on a Holbrook team that is slowly improving.
