Judith Mae “Star” Rohrer, 66, passed away on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at her home in Snowflake following a lengthy illness.
Star was born on May 15, 1948, in Whittier, Calif., to the late Glen Montrose and Barbara Dean (Jones) Hendricks.
She lived in Arizona for the past 42 years and, since 1980, made her home in the White Mountains. She appreciated the beauty of the area and truly found a great deal of joy from the simple things that life had to offer.
Star loved to write. She wrote editorials, newspaper articles and covered local events for the Round Valley Newspaper for several years. Also, she was a published writer and had three books of poetry printed.
In her spare time, Star enjoyed beading, and made literally hundreds of pieces of beaded jewelry for family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Jason Thomas (Jeanne Marie) Cribbs of Springerville and Summer M. (Jason) Hartman of Mesa; a grandson, Brody Michael Hartman of Mesa; and a brother, Tom (Sue) Hendricks of California. She also leaves behind her loyal dog Peppa, who brought her a great deal of joy and happiness during the past few years.
Along with her parents, Star was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Hendricks.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Snowflake was in charge of the arrangements.
