On Nov. 22, Snowflake FFA put military care package donation boxes throughout the towns of Snowflake and Taylor in hopes of getting as many items donated as possible to send to active military overseas on Dec. 6.

Snowflake FFA members asked for non-perishable items, and with the help of many businesses and community members received enough donations to send 17 boxes out to well deserving troop members.

The boxes were packed in the sixth and seventh hour agriculture classes, where students diligently sorted and packed all of the boxes with the donated items, cards and decorations to liven the spirits of the recipients.

Shipping was by far the hardest aspect of this project, but the group was able to do so with the monetary donations. The students in FFA would like to thank all of their supporters who not only donated supplies, but also helped cover shipping costs, which turned out to be about $40 per box. The following businesses and individuals deserve a huge thank you for all of their help: Alibertos, Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic, Pioneer Title Agency, Mandi Perkins, Snowflake High School, and Heather Scott’s agricultural classes. According to the group, the troops were very grateful to receive such wonderful gifts.
