On Dec. 14, the Snowflake FFA delivered a donation of $190.22 collected from Snowflake High School students over a period of three weeks from November through December for the Farm to Football program. The students were to donate coins, spare change and dollar bills if desired. This was all to promote the Farm to Football program sponsored by Farm Bureau and their Ag in the Classroom initiative. Farm to Football allows classes to learn the production and management of various agriculture products and allows students to interact with various producers. Students can send in questions, and the farmers and producers answer their questions. Arizona Cardinal’s Football player Marcus Golden hosted numerous videos highlighting Hickman’s Egg Farm, Kevin Danzeisen’s Dairy Farm and DeAnna Diwan’s cotton farm. The students were able to learn about these three farming practices and study their production methods. All four high school classes participated in the coin drive and the results are as follows: First place were the seniors with $75.25; second place, sophomores with $50.33; third place, juniors with $43.14; and fourth place freshmen with $24.50. The money that was collected stayed in the community and was used to help the Catholic Ministry’s Food Bank. Father Bob Mathieu was greatly appreciative of the support and for the food bank being considered for this gift. This will help them provide many meals and food supplies to those in need.
