By Greg Perkins Holbrook High School will be hosting the Division V Section 1 basketball tournament beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 9. Girls’ teams which could possibly compete include Valley Sanders, Rock Point, St. Michael, Red Mesa, Piñon, Cibecue and Rough Rock. They will be joined by boys’ teams which potentially could include Piñon, Many Farms, Valley, Red Mesa, Rough Rock, Red Valley Cove and Joseph City. Girls’ quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday, with semifinals slated on Thursday, Feb. 11, and the finals on Saturday, Feb. 13. Boys’ quarterfinal games are scheduled on Wednesday, the semifinals on Friday, Feb. 12, and the finals on Saturday. Two games will be played each day, with the first game beginning at 5:15 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. Holbrook’s Roadrunner teams will be competing in the Division III Sectional Tournament, which will be held in Chinle on the same schedule.
