By Naomi Hatch “Get involved in your students future” is the message Margaret White hoped to get out as she spoke during the call to the public portions of the Jan. 7 Taylor Town Council meeting and the Jan. 8 meeting of the Snowflake Unified School District Governing Board. She also planned to address the Snowflake Town Council on Jan. 13. White said she feels that the reinvention proposed for Northland Pioneer College’s Silver Creek Campus will affect students, community stakeholders, constituency groups and businesses, and she asked everyone to participate in public meetings and sing petitions being circulated. She reported that on Jan. 6 NPC President Jeanne Swarthout met with the mayors of Holbrook, Snowflake and Taylor, and as a result has asked the district governing board chair to alter the agenda of the Jan. 20 board meeting. She said that the board will hear public statements on the proposals for the Silver Creek Campus during that meeting.
