On Jan. 7, the Winslow Bulldogs hosted the Page Sand Devils, going up against a faster more physical team who dominated the game from the start.
In the first quarter the Sand Devils would jump off with a double-digit lead outshooting the Bulldogs 19 to 7. In the second quarter the Sand Devils would out score the Bulldogs 14 to 10 for a halftime score Page 33 Winslow 17.
In the third quarter the Sand Devils would enjoy a 20-point lead, outscoring the Bulldogs 13 to 9. Then early in the fourth quarter the Bulldogs would whittle the lead of the Sand Devils to nine by outscoring them 13 to 9 but it wasn’t enough to break even with a final score of Page 53 and Winslow 39.
Winslow had no players in double figures. The high scorer was Blaine Begay with eight points and two three-point shots.
