Ashley Jeffers-Sample
This weekend Ashley Jeffers-Sample of Holbrook will represent the state of Arizona at the American Farm Bureau Federation and Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee’s National Collegiate Discussion Meet in Kansas City, Mo. Last fall Ashley competed on the state level, where she was selected to represent Arizona at this national meet. The discussion meet is designed to stimulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each college-age participant. This competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on topics related to issues involving the agriculture industry. Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Ivah Sample of Holbrook, and was a 2012 graduate of Holbrook High School. She is a senior at the University of Arizona in Tucson, and represents the UofA as an ambassador to the College of Agriculture and Live Sciences. She was a member of the UofA’s Livestock Judging Team, and is also a member of the Collegiate Livestock Growers Association and the Sigma Alpha Sorority.
